Pictures and some rambling stories?
Here is Central Park being kind of awesome:
So I did NOT run into Mr Fry in the park today, but that's all right. I broke in my new winter boots and went to the Shake Shack to eat THE best veggie burger in the world.
(Guys, it was a portabello mushroom. But it was so much more. They fill the cup of the mushroom with cheddar and I think muenster and then they coat it in batter and deep fry it. OMG. It was the first veggie burger I ever ate that I thought, "Man, I feel bad for the people who ordered the beef burgers. They are missing out." Maybe one day soon I will try and recreate this beautiful burger at home.)
Then I went down to Union Square, desperate for gift ideas. Luckily, I found the coolest things ever amid all the hand made crap: Wonder Warmers! They're little heat packs that are so much cooler than other heat packs. They're this weird jelly pack at first, right? But they have a little metal disc inside that you pinch and BAM, it turns from jelly to heated solid crystal. And then when the heat's gone and it's still solid, you boil it in hot water until it turns back to jelly. Ta DAAAA! Reusable heating! So I got a big one for my mom and a pair of little ones for my pockets, since I will be standing outside in long lines at least once this winter. I know it's kind of practical, but my mom likes practical stuff.
I still had to get something for Shayne, but I remembered I had a gift coupon for Amazon, so I order him a copy of The Yiddish Policemen's Union, which I haven't read yet, but I'm sure he'll like it in both a Jewish sense and a OMFG Alaska is crazy sense.
Well, besides some homemade things and mixtape uploads and holiday cards, I guess my Christmas shopping is done. Yay!
