I loved the little detail of Steve being so grateful for the socks -- if you read soldier's accounts of WWII, the wonders of dry socks are a running theme. Slogging through mud for weeks on end tends to do that to you.

Also like Steve's question about 'is it a robot'; it's a perfectly reasonable one to have.
