Notes from an Insane Brain

I was leafing through my little notebook today to make a to do list and I came across some notes I'd made while preparing to write Duplex (the House/Wilson/House clone fic). If you recall, I wrote the entire 6,400 word story in under 12 hours. These notes were made that morning.







You can see some things that never made it into the story, like an idea to have the clone cheer for the Mets in an OOC for House move. There was also a pro-con list for what sort of sex acts should take place, some character notes for Richard the clone, and some listed reasons for why he couldn't be House's brother, because it was important to me to negate the incest idea before it even arose.

Maybe this helps illustrate how my brain works when I think up a fic?

...I guess I should go work on NaNo now.

LOL, I remember beta'ing this fic (didn't I?...) and it's fascinating to see this! I especially like the 'I don't want no incest' and the OMG realisation!

I never make any notes on my fics... perhaps because I don't want to risk a RL paper trail :)

I never make notes either, but I thought since I was working on such a tight schedule that I should take notes while watching my clothes spin in the washer. So I didn't forget anything.

And yes, you did beta it! Part of it? I think whatever I had finished before 3 am GMT? Ya da best, girl.

I love things like this! :D My notes are always in Cyrillic because I'm a pretentious fucktard I always write them at work, where I'm liable to leave them lying around. :P

This coming home was the part of the story I liked most... he went "this better be good" or something.

My writing teacher told me this weekend we should write with our brain switched off or we will be kind of blocked. Still have to get into that advice...

Tell you what: NaNo is the perfect way to put that advice in action. I am writing so fast with no internal censor, just bambambambambam! So many mistakes, so many things that will need fixing, but I'm sure I'll eventually get into a groovy zen-like state where I'm writing good things?
