OK, after watching the latest and possibly most badass episode of 24 ever, I am all caught up on that. That show is good times. I will have to continue watching that.

I am two episodes behind on House. It sucks that Fox.com doesn't put the newest episodes online until the week after they aired, but I will have to watch the episode from two weeks ago this weekend and then watch the new episode Monday before watching last week's episode? Gah. Is it even any good lately? All I've heard buzzing from the comms is "lolz, baby, wtf?"

I totes forgot to watch the Dollhouse premiere this week! Or was it last week? It looks like there's two episodes online right now. I'll have to watch those this weekend too. Anyone watched it? Is it any good?

Also, I do want to watch more Big Bang Theory, but it's just a sitcom so I don't feel a great need to watch tons of it to catch up. I'll just lazily Netflix it when nothing else is going on.

Also, I am systematically watching Top Gear from start to finish. I'm at season 5 now. So that's an ongoing project.

Oh, and hey, I finally finished the first season of Dr. Who (the newer first season?) that [livejournal.com profile] brewsternorth gave me. GUYS I HAVE N00B QUESTIONS. PLZ BE PATIENT.

1. OK, so wait. Can the Doctor be a woman? Like, you'd think that would be doable. Can we have a woman Doctor?

2. So wait. At one point the Doctor takes Rose back in time twice to the same time and place where her dad dies, and they see themselves in the past but can't touch themselves, but then at the season finale, when they're fighting the Daleks and Rose suggests they go back in time to warn themselves, the Doctor's all, "Oh, no, we can't do that, sorry." WTF?

3. Wait. OK. So in the episode where Rose's dad dies, her mom definitely is told she's Rose from the future, and even though the Doctor said they'd forget everything once the time thingy was fixed, the mom definitely remembers Rose being there but doesn't remember she's Rose? How the eff does that work?

4. How frustrating is it when Team Tardis shows up in some lame place like Cardiff and then says, "Man, remember last week when we went to that planet with the ocean that was frozen mid-storm and we walked between frozen waves 100 feet high? How cool was that?" DEAR BBC: I KNOW YOU HAVE NO BUDGET BUT COULD YOU AT LEAST STOP TEASING ME WITH ALL THE AWESOME THINGS THIS SHOW WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO ON CAMERA?

5. Wait a second. If no body can withstand holding the light from the heart of the Tardis without exploding or whatever, then how come Rose managed to do it pretty freaking well for at least a little bit, but the Doctor's body almost immediately had to explode? Also, "sounds like you need a doctor"? What reject from the school of plot-based pornography wrote that line!?

6. Did...did you just abandon your pansexual teammate that you brought back to life in a horrible future dimension where almost all of the human race has been killed? Or did you bring all humans back to life too and you just showed us Capt. Jack coming back to life because you didn't have the time or the budget to show a FEW more people get up from the floor? Because if it's the first one, man, Doctor. You are a dick.

7. So okay, wait. Before the ninth Doctor changes to the tenth, he says he'll be a different person in a way that sort of implies his personality will be different too. I was going along with that because, you know, it's a good way to explain the differences between actors' interpretations. But then New Doctor is all, oh man, my new teeth feel weird. So...the Doctor retains all his memories I guess? So why would his personality change at all? Unless I'm wrong and all the Doctors have the same personality?

8. Hold on! So the Doctor gave Rose a bike for Christmas when she was 12? So he's known all along that she would grow up to be her companion? So he CAN go forward in time and spy on himself? Or has his future self maybe left clues for his past self?
Please see question 2 again.

9. So wait, the Dalek they killed in like 2012 wasn't the last Dalek, because there was another one that fled the Time War in a ship and became the Dalek God that was in 200,100? So I'm guessing if one Dalek could time travel to safety, there are probably a whole lot of them floating around? WTF, Daleks!

Whew! OK, so I'm questioning this show a lot. But that doesn't mean I didn't get into it. In fact, towards the end there, I was getting into it quite a bit. Except I felt a little deflated when Nine had to leave to make way for Ten. I was just beginning to like Nine! Who the fuck is this little Tenth guy? I know, I know, it's the nature of the Doctor and I shouldn't get attached. But geez. One season? That's it?

Since flist folks have been hemming and hawing recently about the new 11th Doctor, I'm guessing Ten stays around much longer than Nine did. Any reason why his tenure was so short? For a campy little series, I thought the acting was pretty darn good. Although if all the murmurings I hear are to be believed, I suppose the trend of new Doctors is leaning towards the younger and hotter. Which makes me like Nine even more for his silly ears and all. *huggles classically not-so-attractive Doctor!*

So the question is twofold:

1. Should I continue watching Doctor Who? If I like the Ninth Doctor, will I enjoy the Tenth?

2. Should I watch Torchwood? I like Captain Jack, but mostly for the sort of sweet and almost innocent way he kisses both the Doctor and Rose before the fight with the Daleks. I thought that was well done, but I have heard that Torchwood is not at all sweet or innocent, and in spots very badly written.

So make my decisions for me, people!
