Man, New York DOES do Christmas totally well. Share time?
First here is my new favorite Christmas song.
Second, here is my new favorite bookstore! The Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookstore is tiny, but they're a model indie bookstore. The shelves are filled with things you wouldn't find in a B&N or a Borders. Everything's divided by ladies and dudes and transfolk and then divided by genre. I bought this because I love old pulp novels:
That's right. The one lady is buying Juicy Peaches while the other is stocking up on cucumbers. I guess they're both vegans?
Third, here's my new favorite way to eat two slices:

THAT'S RIGHT. YOU MUST DOUBLE-DECKER THAT SHIT. JUST LIKE IN SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER.
It's a common problem: I'm hungry enough to eat more than one slice, but I'm on foot. Double-decking is that only way to go. Nothing better than eating a folded pizza sandwich and gulping a Coke while strutting up the avenue.
Fourth, this is what Rockefeller Center looked like, I guess. I don't know, it was pretty crazy. I tried to get out of there as fast as I could. I almost got hit by a van! :D
And fifth, this is my next favorite new Christmas song. WOW, J-POP. YOU EVEN COVER CHRISTMAS SONGS.
In conclusion, Christmas can come now. I iz ready!

Date: 2008-12-15 05:59 am (UTC)My image of NYC in Christmas time solely comes from watching "Home Alone 2". I'm just a tiny bit envious.

I love New York at holiday-time. So many good memories. :)

Date: 2008-12-17 01:07 pm (UTC)And I wish I had a K-pop song I heard recently to share. It was an artist covering as many Christmas songs as she could in the standard 3 minutes 17 seconds allotted for radio songs - every few lines, a new song. Absolutely hilarious. I don't know who it was, though, or which song title to search.
